In celebration of the Huygens Year, Ensemble SCALA will perform in the Grote Kerk in The Hague on Sunday 7 July 2013 at 14:00. The concert will feature a small ensemble of flute, viola, and Fokker organ (using the portable Fokker organ keyboard) performing works in the fascinating 31-tone tuning of Christiaan Huygens, including compositions by Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck, Anton de Beer, Charles Delusse, and Nicola Vicentino. By combining early music with a single more modern work (De Beer), the concert offers a broad audience the opportunity to experience the beautiful and intriguing unequal semitones of the meantone tuning.
The musicians of this trio are: Raymond Honing, flute / Manuel Visser, viola / Ere Lievonen, Fokker organ
