This unique organ has now reached a retirement age, yet the 31-tone music that can be played on the instrument is more alive than ever. In 2009, the Fokker organ was moved to its current location in the Kleine Zaal of the Muziekgebouw aan \u2019t IJ. Since then, dozens of new works for the instrument have been composed by both young and established composers. It is time to celebrate this milestone with an anniversary concert, offering a cross-section of the rich and distinctive repertoire of Adriaan Fokker\u2019s 31-tone organ, the construction of which was inspired by a 1691 invention (the 31-tone equal tuning) by the famous physicist Christiaan Huygens.
